Radiation and Transmutation

DWU #3 What is the average atomic mass of element "X" if it has the following isotopes and percent relative abundance?  X-131, 8.2500%; X-128, 90.000% and X-133, 1.7500%

I checked and went over homework and gave a homework quiz.  I also collected the Metal/Non-Metal Lab and the element squares for the periodic table.

We finished the Periodic Table video and I gave a bit of class time to work on the Isotope and Average Atomic Weight worksheets.

Most of the period was spent discussing radioactivity types, exposure to radiation and radioactive decay.

HW:  Read 19.1-19.2; p. 630 #12,13,16-19; submit your element paragraph to turnitin.com; finish transmutation, isotope and average atomic weigh worksheets
