DWU #4- An object has a mass of 18.361 grams and a volume of 8.1 mL. What is the density? Report correct sig figs. Will it float in water? How do you know?
I went over the answers to the blue Sig Fig worksheet and we did 8 practice problems then took a homework quiz. Answers to the blue sig fig worksheet can be found here. I also introduced the concept of Dimensional Analysis and we did some practice problems (answers here). Note: the most important part of the exercise is showing the work and reporting to the correct number of significant digits. A good tutorial on dimensional analysis can be found here.
