I checked the homework, went over it and took the homework quiz. Following that we discussed isotopes and isotope notation. We took notes on the periodic table, then learned about weighted averages and the average atomic mass. This site has a good tutorial on how to calculate average atomic mass. I also performed a demonstration of the reaction of sodium solid with water, similar to the one shown here.
HW: Read 3.7; complete p. 82 #23,24,26,28,29; element quiz on Tuesday; element project due on Thursday.
