Heat, Temperature and Heat of Combustion

DWU #1
a. Delta T is a measure in the change in _____________________, the average kinetic energy of a substance in degrees Celsius.
b.  Delta H is a measure of the change in ________________________ due to the breaking/Forming of bonds.
c.  In the equation
What does each symbol represent?  What are the units for each symbol?

Welcome back!  We started the new year with new seats.  We discussed the differences between temperature and heat and did a few temperature conversions.  We also learned about specific heat and how to use the equation above.

I did the demo lab Heat of Combustion of Candle Wax.

HW:  Finish heat of combustion Worksheet, read 10.1- 10.3, p. 293 #2, p. 318 #1,2,4, 8-14
